The Peter Bates Flooring was instrumental in introducing access flooring to the South African market after the company was founded in 1973. We have since established ourselves as market leaders and trend setters within the African market.

LONG SPAN 1200MM – 2000MM SUPPORT SYSTEMS: Although the traditional 600 x 600mm panel module is still used for standard office and server room installations, we have found an ever increasing need for the support pedestals to be spaced at 1200m X 1200mm intervals for high tech telecommunication switch and server applications.

This is to accommodate easier access for maintenance to large chiller pipes accommodated within the floor plenum. It is impractical to produce and install a heavy 1200 x 1200mm steel panel therefore local and international manufacturers have engineered the 1200mm long span support system. This system supports standard 600mm x 600 panels but the supports pedestals are spaced 1200mm apart. These support systems are specifically designed adapted to the site specifications and are available in floor heights in excess of 2000mm.
